Gauze swabs (cotton) hydrophile gauze
Hydrophile gauze consists of bleached, purified and hydrophile cotton. The sinking time is at most 10 seconds and the gauze should have a minium tensile strength. The different types are indicated with a number of threads per square centimeter. This corresponds with a certain weight in grams per square meter.
For example: the type 17 threads has an approximate weight of 24 grams per m². A number of these threads are placed in the length of the cloth (chain threads) and a number of them are placed in the crosswise direction (crosswise threads). For example: the type 17 threads has per cm² 10 threads in chain and 7 threads crosswise.
Non woven swabs
Non woven is a knitted tibne which is become by binding natural or synthetic fibers in a physical or chemical way until it becomes a non stopping fibre. No particles come off from the swab, it is soft, porous, has a large absorbency and doesn’t stick into the wound. |
